Tune up things...
I've got 113k miles on my 96 DX civic, I know what it is now, but when I bought it I didn't.
Anyway i'm stuck with it untill I get more money and I have done a few minor things to it to try and help. I got an exhaust & cold air intake, both of which I paid a total of 70.00
It needs a tuneup bad and I basicly need to know what all I need to change (plugs, oil, filter, belts?,)
I figured since im changing this **** out, I might as well spend a few more dollars and get some decent plugs and so on, can auto-zone and places like that order high performance plugs & wires or where do I get them.
Also what would you guys suggest as far as plugs & wires for this.
This is my first honda and I love it, I've owned it about a year, put 60k miles on it and no major problems.

If it's at 113K now and you've driven it for the past 60K, I hope you had the timing belt changed or will change it soon. I believe 110k is the recommended interval for your '96. Drive belts and water pump are normally done at the same time.
As for tune ups... A set of regular or platinum NGK's is all you really need. Your stock wires should be clean and free of knicks or cracks. (I'm still running my factory original wires at 250k on my '90 Si) If they look good, they most likely are OK. Change out the distributor cap and rotor. I recommend Honda OEM parts. A valve adjustment wouldn't hurt either if you don't know when it was done last.
As long as you're spending money, flushing the brake fluid would be good preventative maintenance. Maybe flush your coolant too. Check your owners manual for other recommended service items and intervals. Oil and filter changes should come at least every 5000 miles, but sooner than 3000 just wastes money and resources.
