trouble after doing valve seals!! help!
so today i did my valve seals since i was burning oil when i downshifted and gunned it.
after installing the seals i put everything back together and adjusted the valve lash to .007 exhaust and .006 intake. made sure everything was hooked up and i tried starting the car. it booged out after it started for couple seconds. i checked the grounds and now the car starts and idles. the cars ticks kinda loudish so im guessing my valve lash is off but will the valve lash if its off cause the car to idle real low after i revv it and than go back to normal? i also kept the revs at around 2k and than tried to do it again and i heard a lound kinda backfire sound. is this all due to the valve lash???
sorry for the long story, any help appriciated

did you check your timing? Maybe you skipped a tooth or 2. Also did you use the proper tool that holds the lifter nut in place? You know the thing that holds the flat head screw steady while you torque the bolt down to specs?

thanx for replying i appriciate it. i redid my valve lash today and loosened and tightened the cam caps again and cleaned up all the grounds and its like before. i guess some of my intake and exhausts were too loose.
thanx again

hey one more thing,
when i put compressed air into the cylinders and removed the valve seals, i could see air leaking from some of the intake valve guides. does this mean my those intake valves are bad and are letting air go through? also when i put compressed air in cylinder 2 and blocked cylinder 3 with my palm i could feel the air building up in that cylinder and when i let go i could feel the air escape. what could that mean?
