trickle charge - electrical damage?

trickle charge - electrical damage?
All right, I'm off at music camp here and my dad was going to put my gsr on a trickle charge, but I had a fit about it... Is there any possibility of the trickle charge doing something wierd to my electrical system?
Although, this is probably one of those where everyone has a different opinion... thanks anyways
