Default Transmission question

Hey. This is my first time opening up a tranny myself. Its and LS hydro tranny and I am installing an mfactory lsd. My question is, can I use the ring gear (i think its called a ring gear. the big gear that bolds to the diff) from and sir instead of the ls to get a little shorter gearing? I already have the ring gear, but do i have to swap out anything else to make it work?

Thanks in advance.

You will have to swap out the counter shaft with the ring gear.
