Default Transmission help/question.

Well I got a transmission from a junkyard for $20. Not that it really matters but the car had 140k on it. The shift linkage was already taken so i wasnt able mess with the gears.

My question...is there any way with out actually putting the tranny in and testing it to know if it is any good? I realize its easy to install a tranny but my buddy wants to buy it if its anygood. I even told him he can install it and if it any good to buy it, if not than take it back out. But he doenst want to.

You can pull the case apart and inspect the internals of the tranny. That's the only way to check it out unless you put it in a car.

I think I found a pair in a cereal box with I was 8, haven't seen them since. Sorry Bro.

I have x-ray so that wont be a problem.
