ok i just recently putted a b16 tranny and got rid of my gsr..only reason was because 3rd was grinding aafter ab out 4500rpm...now my b16 tranny is doing the same...does anyone know is it because my new tranny thats getting messed up, my shift linkage because it came off a jdm gsr that got into a wreck, or soem people say my flywheell?? i dont know and dont want to have to get rid of my LSD!! ok thanks for the help

 

I personally dont see why it would be your flywheel. Could just be a conscience. Is 3rd you only problem?

 

3rd gear sets are an ongoing problem with b series transmissions. A new hub,collar, and synchro set will solve your problem. Just replacing the syncho is may not be the answer, check the set up thoroughly

 

i have the same problem most of the time i hear that its either time for a new clutch or usually what happens its u need new mounts what happens is when ur motor gets revved that high it tilts back and speed shifting into 3rd will catch the tranny before it gets back to being level causing a lil grind if that makes any sense but i have hasport mounts so that cant be my problem i hope its the clutch cuz i dont wanna get rebuild my jdm gsr tranny with lsd
