TPS problem...and a question
I'm getting a check engine light, so I pulled the code and it was a code 7. TPS sensor right? I searched and read through a lot of threads and now have a question... If I check the sensor with a multimeter and it doesn't read the 5V it's supposed to, can I use any TPS sensor? I have a '94 B18C in a '99 civic hatch. Or do I have to use an integra one? Can it be from an LS? ( is there any difference? )
I replaced the entire TB already because i broke the sensor when I took the engine out to do some rewiring. I got one from a junkyard. The original one had screws that could be taken out and the tps removed / calibrated. This TB that I have now has 'rivets' and it is permanently IN THERE. If i can find a teg TPS can i just , i don't know , BREAK out the old one and put one in with screws or something.
Otherwise are there any aftermarket TB that come with the sensors?

use a dremel tool to slot the head of the rivit looking thing. Its actually a bolt that the head pops off of when they torque it down. after you cut the slot, you can take it out with a flathead screwdriver.
