Default timing belt goo...

i have a drag kit w/ the drag dump tube. Never had a problem for 2yrs. But recently after the new motor and driving for around 600 miles i noticed my timing belt has this black goo residue all over my timing belt. It's not sticky rather seems like the outside of the belt has been burnt or something. (my cam gears section of the valve cover is cut). Has this happened to anyone before? Im sure my exhaust is routing back into the engine bay but its just weird 'cause even before i never had this problem.
