timing belt
ok im setting the timming belt. i lined up the crankshaft pully at TDC. I did the same with the camshaft pully. I turned the crankshaft to put tension on the belt. when i checked it after puting tension on the belt it was off. it looked like only 1 tooth so i put it 1 tooth the oposite way and its then off 1 tooth the opposite way. what am i doing wrong?
make sure your belt is tight between the cam gears. This would throw you off. Also when you turn everything, before you tighten the tensioner you should only turn it like 3 teeth then tighten it down. It takes a while sometimes to get it perfect. My guess is that the cam gears are throwing you off, with either play between them or the lines aren't straight across
