Throttle Position Sensor issue.
I tired the search feature and keep getting the reply "Search failed" Try again later" and frankly I'm tired of waiting..
I'd had this problem troubling my car for sometime now...
H22A swapped EG sedan. As usual I got the motor with a broken TPS. I replaced it after the motor was in the car and running good for sometime. I never actually calibrated it, but I know when I started the car at idle it would read 0.0% throttle so I assumed it was ok.
Anyhow, from time to time when I'm driving if I let off the gas the TPS reading would sit at 1.4 to 1.8% and other times zero. It also seems to surge from at low percentage like around 8% and jump up to around 15% causing the car to jump forward which is sorta embarrassing when driving slow through parking lot..
Then on the way home from work today I turned out in to traffic and it started acting like a TPS CEL code was thrown only revving to 2K rpm, shut the car off, restart, no problem and then it would do it again after a bit. I'm not sure where to start. Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm going to see if I can calibrate it tomorrow, then start to check wiring on the VAFC. The connector is snapped in snug, it acts almost like when the connector use to come loose on the old broken sensor.
