Default TB coolant bypass and idle surge

I just bypasssd the coolant in the TB and iac and now my idle is bounceing from 800 to 3k rpms. I've heard of this happening to other people but does it happen to everyone? Is there anyway to stop it? The only rerason I did it was to make pulling the intake off easier and cleaner. What it I just fill the tb and iac wil coolant and plug the lines?

i cut out a piece of aluminum (beer can) the shape of the fast idle thermo valve and put it b/w the throttle body and FITV, then bolted everything back up. this solved all my idling issues when the motor is cold. now when ever i start my car my idle is always constant.

I'll give that a try. But my car starts and idles fine when its cold but after it warms it it starts to surge.

thats was the opposite of my car. it would surge when cold and stay constant when warm.

I always remoev all coolant lines from the intake manifold as well as block the
coolant port in the head from the intake manifold. I see significant drops in air
temp on my datalogger.

I can't really answer that for sure. I may make some but the main reason I did was because I'm removing the intake manifold just about every other week. and it just makes everything easier.

In PA this time of year you may need it to prevent TB icing...
