Default Swapping b16a bottom end for b18c some help please.

I am planning on swapping my damaged b16a bottom for a b18c bottom that I just picked up. Ive never really done this before and have some questions. I plan to make a simple swap.
Is there any differences with the both bottom ends besides the displacement.
Are there any steps or things I should do because Im using a b16a head with the b18c bottom end?, or is it just simple swap? e.g oil pump, timing etc.

New pistons!! A stock GSR bottom and B16A head will yield a sorry-*** compression ratio. Consider B16A pistons w/ your swap!! This will set your C.R. at about 11.5:1! Good luck!

If I were you I would go ahead and get the whole block and cylinder head off a B18c1. If you already have the block you can go on line and find a b18c1 head for about $300-$400. A b16 head is good for a ls/vtec convertion. Good luck!!!

A b16 head is good for a ls/vtec conversion.
A B16 head is the same cast as a type r minus the port and polish from the factory. The second and first gen B16s differ in cams and better cooling passages. B16 flows better than a GSR. The setup he is going to make is what is called a "poorman's type r". Not saying he is poor though.

Saso: The swap should be straight forward. Like pulling off your head and putting it back on. Isn't your car turbo'd? The all drag one?

Yup, its my street car. The 16 head is totally crazy worked so I wanna use it for the time until I can fix my built 16 bottom. Wanna run bout 8 psi in it. Thanks for the info guys gonna try DIY. Does anyone have recommendation about replacing head studs and the oil sump, I hear the 16 sump cant work on the 18.

Damn thats your street car? Head removal is easy, I took mine off in an hour, I'm sure people have done it faster. The B16 pump can fit but you'd be better off with the GSR. Oh btw fyi, the GSR/B20/Type R oil pumps are the same. Good luck on the build.
