stop code 6!
i changed the head, now the car is bogging a little and im getting a code 6. i messed with the plug under the distributor and i reset the ecu. no dice. could this be an indication that i put the head gasket on wrong?
there was no indication on the gasket so all i did was match the holes up. theres only one way to put it on right? TIA

Code 6 = ECT sensor
Do you have a multi-meter? If yes, go measure the resistance between the two terminals of the ECT itself with the connector removed.
At about 86F it should measure ~2k ohms
At about 176F it should measure ~400 ohms
At about 212F it should measure ~250 ohms
Now, if you can't measure it, warm up the car. Go to Radio Shack and purchase a 330 ohm resistor. Unplug the ECT connector and insert the resistor there. This will simulate a fully warmed up car.
Since you will still probably have the code before inserting the resistor, obviuosly your gonna have to reset the ECU.
If the ECT checked out OK initially, then I'd look to your wiring.
If the resistor trick works...ECT = bad
EDIT: Forgot another little tid-bit....the IAT and ECT, on a cold car, should measure the same resistance...a little sanity check for you.
