Default Sr20 question

i kno that this site is deticated to hondas.......however i have the oppertunity to buy nissan twin cam motor. the guy says that it is a Sr20, but the block isn't stamped like a honda motor would be. does anyone on this site know where the motor ID is stamped at? Any help is appreciated. thanx

Do you have a pic of the engine? Compare the pic to other pics of SR20's. The SR20 isn't like a lot of Honda engines in that they look almost identical to several others.

yeah i used to own a 200sx...i know i know its shitty but anyway. If you look on the driver side door you will find a engine code, like CA18, CA18T, sr20...ect ect ect, and the list goes on.

it was alright i guess. Not really fast and too much money to do any kind of worth while swap to. Had alot of problems with the fuel system also. After having it in the shop 5 times for the fuel problem, I gave up and trade it in. And yes that SE-R is pretty nice also

there should be a stamp on the front of the motor, just below the head, on the right side, when looking at the motor from the front of the car. at least my friends does. (thats a bad *** motor, bye the way) but ill stick with my honda.

On a s13 s14 and s15 it buy the rear driver side of the motor where the trans connects to the motor

Sorry this the only pic I have off hand its on the right cant really see it but

good stuff the one im looking at looks smaller, the valve cover is not as wide ans it says "twin cam" on it.

spark, thats actually the standard on all the nissan engines.

thats the place my info is stamped on my stock KA and the skyline motor thats in there now.


also, yes to the trained eye there are visual diffrences between the sr20 generations (other than valve cover colors )
