spun beering??
hey what else could be wrong with an engine when it has a spun beering???? and how do you get a spun beering???? i need to know before i get this motor.
First, don't touch that engine. Reason why: Spun bearing is mainly due to oil starvation, but can also be overrevving, causing oil starvation, excessively high temperatures that can melt the bearings, and they would re-cast in a different shape when it cools down. This happened to me on a rod bearing. It can also be due to a warped block.
This is what it can produce quite quickly: Spun bearings wil either turn on the crank, rods or block. Depending on how long it has lasted, you'd have to replace those parts, or at least get them milled and re-polished, but in any case they won't remain as solid as new ones would. rods are replaceable, crankshaft, maybe too costly. You would also need to re-measure the new bearings to make sure you get everything fitted in there with the right factory tolerances.
IMO don't touch this engine. Could be a can of worms. Look for another.
