Default SOHC Vtec activating rpm

I have a SOHC vtec engined 2001 Honda Civic Sedan automobile (displacement : 1.6 lt). At what rpm does the second rocker arm start to move fixed with the main one? Or how can i notice it? Anybody know this?

Should be from 4800rpm-5200rpm.

Depending on 3 factors:

1. Vehicle Speed above 5 mph
2. Vehicle in gear
3. Coolant temp greater than 140 deg.

and oil


if your low on oil it wont engage
