sohc timing belt question
I am building a turbo D and i am using a Z6 block with an A6 head. Ask why well cuz i had a cam and what not laying around for the A6. I just ordered an A6 timing belt and it was too loose on my motor. I am kinda stumped cuz i thought the Z6 belt was larger then the A6 one. Any input on this?? Thanks

I am not much of a D-series guru, in fact i HATE EM, STANK! BUT...
Measure the diamter of your crank cog for the timing belt on both engnines, measure the tensioner, measure WATER PUMP (i know i read that one style has 1 tooth more or one less, i forgot) Check the cam gear diameter just incase, but i know the cam gears are all the same. IF they all measure out correctly, take measurements of the block's deck heights, and measure the head's distance from center of cam gear to the deck... Unless someone is ******* with you and gave you the wrong timing belt. Try all what i said, its what i'd do... Except i would toss the SOHC in the lake and buy a B18c Dual cammer slammer....
