Default sohc motor question

My sister hydro locked her 2000 ex and so I have a d15z1 motor from a 93 vx at the house with bad pistons and I was thinking of just changing the pistons from the d16 to the d15 and putting that in her car to get it running. Will it work? Thank you for your help.

i'm not expert, but i'm thinking the d16 pistons are going to be larger in diameter, because the block height is probably the same.

The block height is different. The bore size is 75mm on both. I am not sure about the compression height.

Its not worth the labor. You can find a D16 for under $400 most of the time, might as well just do that.
