rofl 1.8-2.0 sohc engine ...thats a good one.. the displacement has to do way more with the rod ratio and crank ratio than just the bore. fyi

I know a 77mm bore d16 will yield about a 1.7xl motor.
When i talked to rs machine about getting my project car sleeved they said they have bored all motor (d16) cars as much as 80mm.

i dont have the equation on me but im pretty sure an 80mm bore d16 will yield close to 1.8l.

without sleeving the block, i think .5mm overbore is supposed to be a safe limit.

but if you sleeve to 79mm and use a d17 crank of 94.4mm stroke...this give you a 1.85L. 80mm & 94.4mm = 1.89L 80mm & 90mm = 1.81L

i dont know what rod ratio has to do with displacement?

A machine shop here in Toronto has sleeved a D16 and bored it to 81mm.
This allows you to drop in B18A/B rods and pistons. I understand it is about 1.9 litres, and I'm told is between 11 and 12:1 comp...
Quite a sleeper in a CRX...
