SMOG Fail , 02 Sensor Placement? HELP!
Hey guys.
I'm having some trouble getting through SMOG. It's been quite the process of troubleshooting, but still not found the cause of it failing. My new theory is as follows:
The car is failing on to high carbon monoxide %, (to rich, unburned fuel), and since the 02 sensor is only reading cylinder 4 on an aftermarket exhaust header (the leanest cylinder) the ECU is making the mixture super rich to compensate for it being lean. Also I took a peak at the pistons when I changed spark plugs, and cylinder 4 was definitely the most silver of them all, the rest was more black/dirty.
Well thats the theory anyway. Could this be the cause, have anyone had similiar issues?
