SK2 cams seem to work fine without their valvetrain... sure they are definately recommended from the manufacturer but i have seem no problem using them with Portflow springs etc... I've however seen problems with JUN cams running a non JUN valvetrain but their cams are setup for linear progressive springs... I'm sure you'll be fine but I would double check... Latez
u NEED better than stock valve train for stage 2's... I m running stage 2 with skunk2 valvetrain... If u want to save money.. dont buy skunk2 valves.. by supertech valves.. They are the ones that skunk2 sells, but skunk2 slaps their sticker on it and calls it theirs... $$$ big difference... rev to 9K
I had to make the same choice. Had a motor together with the Crower springs and retainers, and decided to go with the Skunk2 Stage2's. I would have probably been o.k. with the Crower valvetrain, but I opted to buy the Skunk2 stuff just to be on the safe side. There is a rumour that Crower makes the Skunk2 stuff, but I don't know if it's true. You will probably be o.k. with the Crower stuff, it's your choice. Why don't you call Skunk2 and see what they have to say about it.
how does every1 feel about using stock oem valves w/ skunk2 springs and retainers . Also b19 coupe not 2 b a dick but how r u not runnings 12's w/ that setup ? A friend of mine is going 11's w/ a similar setup .
