SHould i get my ecu chipped!
I got a 94 civic with a 95 ls motor and 403 crower cams valve springs and retainers, msd btm without the btm hooked up so same as the 6al and i got a bigger, boss fuel pump, dc headers and thermal exhaust. The car hits the rev limiter and still feels like it can go alot more what chip to get iwas thinking eriks racing and getting the rev limiter removed i usually don't ask tech questions but i just want to know if anyone else has a similiar set up and got a chipped ecu.
You can raise the rev-limiter a few hundred rpm, or so, without horrible effects, but further than that and you could suffer valve-float and ruin your engine. SO, unless you get some stiffer valve-springs and possibly lighter valves and retainers, there's no reason to do it. If you must no more, I would wager a search turns up good results.
the 403 cams produce lots of power at high end, that's why it seems like the car can go a lot more pass redline, but definetly upgrade to dual valvesprings and titanium retainers. check the crower website.
Get a hondata or something so you can change where your rev limiter is and get it tuned. Don't just set your rev-limiter to X rpms if you are not making power up to that.
