Shitty Compression Results, options?
so, before the tuning session yesterday, we did a compression test on my car-- setup is:
83mm Benson Sleeves
83mm 9:1 CP pistons
Crower Rods
LS Crank
GSR head Supertech Valvetrain
My compression results were:
Cyl 1 Cyl 2 Cyl 3 Cyl 4
190ish 190ish 160ish 200ish
Now my tuners tester reads a little on the high side he said, but what I'm worried about is cyl 3.
Couple theories I have (before doing a leak down):
The piston to wall clearance is a litle on the big side (slapping before warmed up), and the motor had a chance to cool down before we did the comp check, so maybe the piston hadn't had a chance to seal the cylinder yet.
Theory two: Just did a valve adjustment about 5 days before, maybe i did something in number three that would allow the valves to stay open just enough to lose compression.
I will be doing a leak down within the next week-- just trying to pick your brains before.
