Default scratching noise comming from tranny when downshifting. help!!!

this has been happening since day 1 when i put my tranny and clutch together. i got the tranny from a local member, whom frequented here alot and seem to be a pretty reputable guy so i took his work for it that the tranny was indeed low on miles. It was a 99 si tranny, guy says he replaced the tranny because he decided to go with a built itr motor and tranny setup. i figure it couldn't be the isb, its really a scratching noise rather than what the noise that other isb's usually sound like when they fail.

well i installed my clutch and everything ran fine til i attempted to down shift. i figure it was only because the clutch needed to be broken in. well its been maybe 800+ miles on my exedy oem replacement. also had my flywheel resurfaced. can't think of anything else it might be. possibly the clutch master cylinder going out??? also when the noise is in its scratching mode, i would step on the clutch and it would slowly start to fade away, but its when i pull it out of gear and step on the clutch again is when it completely goes away.

now if i don't down shift this problem wouldn't happen at all. i usually just turn the music up but i would like to know what the problem is so i can get it over with.

any help is greatly appreciated.
