Default Scan tool issue

Hey guys, I'm not sure where else to post this, but I'm hoping you guys can help me. I have a 99 LS with a 99 JDM ITR Swap. Both were OBD-II. I recently purchased a scan tool (www.autoenginuity.com) and received it today but I'm having problems getting it to connect. Could it be that the engine/ecu aren't out of the original body or that the JDM OBD doesn't communicate with the USDM OBD system? I've sent an email to the scan tool manufacture, but was thinking someone on honda tech could help me out in the mean time.

Thanks

This is the screen I got when trying to connect. It seems to find the OBDII port fine, but won't connect to the vehicle.

Pre 2002 JDM ECU's do not communicate with the OBD2 scan tools..
