help! my dc headers are showing some surface rust (I'm not suprised). What is the best way to prevent further rusting?

 

What some people do is sand them down with a fine grit sandpaper and then spray them with the VHT flame retardant paint. I think it was supposed to have a heat range up to 1200 degrees. Haven't really heard any complaints from them afterwards. HTH...
