Rubbing alcohol? does it really help emissions?
It may be possible but I have never heard of that. Do you have any mods that would cause your car to not pass smog? If its stock maybe you can check your timing, and do some maintence to get the car to burner cleaner.
First of all, it's not rubbing alcohol that you add (as that is mostly water anyway), it's the alcohol based fuel additives designed to remove water from you tank. HEET is a prime example, and yes, it will affect your emissions in a positive way. Quite a few people have documented how it works, so go ahead and search...
Stupid as i was when i was younger,i threw in a bottle of rubbing alcohol and drove around for 15 minutes and amazingly i passed.Dont reccommend that nowadays,unless you can't afford to fix the problem in your car good luck!
