Default RS Machine Pistons w/rings..

I recently purchased a set of 84.5mm RS Machine pistons from an authorized RS Machine Pistons dealer via ebay. On the ebay page it claims that the set comes with Arias piston rings and not cheap no name brand rings. I would like to know how do I tell Arias piston rings from the "no-name" rings? from looking at the rings, it came in a skinny box that says "made in Japan" on it and a number: 21-GNH08450LT on the side, and from inspecting the rings, one ring has N50 on it. any input will be a great help. Thanks in advance.

old thread I know, but is there any more info on this subject? Just bought a set myself and got the same thing N50 on two rings, look like they might be knockoffs by the packaging but I'm not certain, It's Thanksgiving here and I will be unable to contact Arias until next week so if anyone has more info I would appreciate it.

Called Arias today and found out that Arias does not manufacture piston rings, they use hastings, npr, or total seal rings. NPR's being the main rings they use with sport compact pistons. So if you order these Rsmachine pistons off ebay, know that you are getting Npr's or possibly hastings or total seal, which are all, still, very good piston Rings.

NPR/Hastings rings work perfect with these RS Machine pistons I cant tell you how many sets of these I have used and never had an issue.I know the sales pitch on EBAY and maybe you should email RS Machine and ask them whats going on.

I am almost positive that NO piston mfg. makes their own rings... Regardless of what you read and what's on their sites/catalogs/etc.

I am a JE/CP Dealer and they do not mfg. their own rings. I cant speak for the others out there, but I am sure they follow...

TS, Dana is what JE and CP use. I prefer TS
