Have the same problem, but i had it without changing anything, just dit a swap from D16Z6 to B16A2 and didn't know the condition of the new engine. I asked around with some people and they say, distributor cap, or the ignition coil, or even the ignition wires. i'm gonna test changing the distributor cap and rotor first, if that doesn't work im gonna borrow some ignition wires to test, if that fails i'll take the ignition coil from my old d16z6 (same part as the b16a2).

when the engine getting hot after 50 minutes of driving...then the problem occurs as follow:
rpm needle jumping incorrectly after 4k
HP and TQ lost dramatically
Is it possible cause by advance timing too much?

When mine started doing it, I took the ignitor out and couldn't find anything wrong w/ it either, so I drove around and then I had to change the dizzy because the seal was jacked up... and when I r2'ed the dizzy, problem went away.
