Default rod and main bearings

This question may sound idiotic. But what is the difference between rod bearings and main bearings?

rod bearings are for the rods (for where the rods connect to the crank), and the main bearings are for the crank (where it is "connected" to the block if you will).

aaaaaaaahhhhhh, i see. I completly forgot about the main bearings. errrrgggg. I feel stupid. Thanks for the quick help.

I need some clarification cause im looking to drop in a crank and i need bearings im told i need maid bearings n rod bearings but when i search the net no matter which i put in its the same part that comes up .. if i purchase the king main rod bearings is there another set of bearings i need to purchase ??
