I'm in the process of wiring up my car. Just extended a few wires for a minor wire tuck. I'm planning on replacing the OEM wire looms with pet braided flex sleeves so the bay won't look so dirty. I just want to know if I should heat shrink the wires together first to be more organize and then have the braided sleeve over it or can I just put the braided sleeve over and not worry about any heat?

Also has anybody try fabric heat shrinks?

Bump. I know some of you guys have done this.

 

i wouldnt heat shrink the actual wires together, what if you have a problem in your harness? that would be a huge pain to fix if they were all heat shrinked together

 

yea, i thought about that too last night when i was doing my wires. i'm probably just going to tape it up with electrical tape and reuse the loom where under the dash and probably use the braided sleeves for the engine harness.
