Revving a b18a bottom end to 9200
My new FI setup is a b18c1 head w/ supertech springs/retainers, titanium valves (unsure of cams yet), b18a bottom end darton sleeved @ 85mm, JE 85mm 9.1's, Crower billet steel rods, stock crank, and a z10 girdle if I chose to use it.
I want to rev to about 9200, and have heard that if you don't dowel pin the girdle, that it is pointless. I will most likely have the girdle pinned (3 main girdle), so with that in mind, how high can you safely rev these bottom ends? I have only ran b18c1 bottom ends before, but with a girdle similar to the b18c1 girdle, I don't see why it couldn't rev that high.
Another question is, I have the 3 main caps from a b18c1 w/the girdle installed, so would it be easier to just use those and that girdle on my b18a1 and sell the z10 girdle, since the stock gsr girdle is already dowel pinned? Then just have the block line bored?
