Default removing axles

I'm currently in the process of replacing the clutch but I also want to replace my axles(they have ripped boots and are on their way out). Here are a few problems I have run into:

1. The axle spindle is ready to be removed from the brake disc hub but it wont come out. Ive read chiltons and c-speed and they both say hammer it out but it is not budging... im even hitting it so hard the spindle is starting to mushroom. Ive also tried prying the axle out from the back side of the rotor using screwdrivers but its not helping... anyone have a tip on how to get it out?

2. Ive tried prying the axle out from the halfshaft on the driver side by wedging a 2ft pipe between the axle and halfshaft... it is not coming out. Any tips on getting them apart?

3. What is a good way and tool to pry the passenger axle out of the transmission?

sounds like you need to SOAK the parts over night with WD40 or similar!!!

i had a similar problem to you with a front clip i bought, it had salt water damage...

i had to remove the whole hub assembly nad place it in a bench vice, soak for three days and hit with a 10lbs hammer.

MAKE SURE you dont hit hte end of the axle so that it mushrooms, it may not make it through hte hub...

for the half shaft side, you may need to remove the entire hafl-shaft and axle assembly and pry it appart away from the car.

this is much safer and less frustrating.

make sure you SOAK with WD40 or similar

HTH,

t..

knowing what kind of car would help a little, but have you already separated the ball joints? if so, all you have to do is take off the axle nut, and it should slide out. you might want to put the axle nut back on and tighten it with an impact wrench and then loosen, tighten, etc. this always helps to separate old axles from the hub. other than that, yeah i would just cover everything in wd40 for awhile. rust is a *****, but theyll come out.

It's a 94 gsr. The ball joint is seperated and the 32mm axle nut is off. The axle is ready to be pryed out of the brake hub and the transmission housing, but I cant manage to do either.

I guess I will rig something up and literally bathe the parts in penetrating junk.
