Default Question on buying a motor piece by piece...

I was wondering if it was wise to buy different parts of a motor and just piece it together..for example:

B16 Head - Bought from Guy A
B18C Block - Bought from Guy B
B16 Tranny - Bought from Guy C

Then I take all parts and put it together. Is that just a plain stupid move?? Is it just wiser to buy a complete swap?? Or is that ok as long as everything works fine??

if you knoe what you are doing then ya its a good idea because after its all put together it might be cheaper than a complete swap...on the other hand if your a newb and your not sure what your doing then dont try it or your going to waste ALOT of money buying parts you dont need or the wrong parts
