Question about third gear grinds.
I know alot of people have the third gear grind, and i heard i could change the tranny mount to eliminate this and/or gm syncromesh.
i have a 90 DA integra, which tranny mount should i replace? part number?
my car grinds third in during normal driving conditions, (shifting slowly) is that worse? i heard some people only have a grind when they speed shift in high rpm.
is mine in worse condition than i think?
any experiences on FIXING this problem? what did you do?
thanks so much

I have *Heard* that people have fixed it by changing mounts or using syncromesh.
But I don't know how changing the mounts affects it...
But you could also have worn synchros and collars.
if changing the mount doesn't stop it then synchro mesh will probably be a way of masking the problem, but it won't repair worn tranny parts.
thats an old tranny, and may just be worn
next year your tranny can Vote and buy cigarettes and ****!
The easiest thing to do is change the fluid

Not positive, but it sounds like you've got an internal problem. Possibly synchros, but I've heard of people using synchromesh and it cures their woes. I would suggest doing a fluid exchange and seeing if that helps first before going off and fully rebuilding your tranny or buying a new one if not necessary. Just a bit of advice.

but anyways, since i have no money hahaha i guess ill just do the band -aid that everyones seems to appreciate. gm sycrhomesh it is.
of course in the long run a new tranny is in order, but under my financial circumstance that wont be for another year or so.
ps is it easy to replace a tranny mount? cheap? how much is the mount?
thank you again for your input.
