quaife help
so here's the deal.... i just got finished putting my tranny to my motor (quaife already installed) if i spin the flywheel/crank the axles dont spin an dif i spin the axles they both move but the motor stays still.... i tired putting it in gear and all but same thing.... my question is ...is this normal? does the quaife have to have some sort of load or something? can anybody help?
Can you restate? I really don't understand how you would move the flywheel with the tranny on the motor. Do you mean you tried driving but the car wont move forward?
I have a quaife atb in my jdm itr 96 spec tranny and when the car was on jack stands with the engine running in nuetral the wheels would move forward. I'v heard that the shims will eventually seat properly over time. I tested this again about 10k miles down the road and the wheels no longer move by them selfs with the motor running on jack stands in neutral. Not sure if this makes any sense but restate your question and I'll do my best to help out.

no the motor is outside the car....in the process of putting it in..... i just bolted up the tranny to the motor...... and thru the starter hole i moved the flywheel and the input part for the axles dont rotate like a normal honda diff would do.... and if i put an axle in and spin the axle ,the flywheel doesnt move but the other side of the axle moves.... do you think my clutch isnt clamping down or something? im going to pull the tranny off and look at it tonight....
I'm not too sure what exactly is supposed to happen, when you move the flywheel by itself. When I had my car on jack stands I turned one wheel and the other would turn, I'm not sure if the flywheel would or is supposed to turn if there wasn't anything holding it in place.

If this helps any, I did the same thing with with my B16 tranny equiped with a LSD also. The motor spins like 5-10 times (guess) to the differential spinning once. Just the way the gearin is. Turn the motor over by the crank pulley, might be a lil easier.
Like I said, hope this helps cuz I thought the same thing when I did mine.
