anyone ever done this?
i need a new rack. or at least i need to rebuild mine. was wonder if a power steering rack from a sedan will fit in my non-power steering 89 hb. i dont plan to put the pump in, so would i be benefit from this at all? hoping to get a better ratio. but dont know squat about this stuff, just figured if i gotta fix it might as well try to make things better.

unless you need to build up your upper body stregnth, stick with the manual steering rack. The power steering rack is 3 times as hard to turn without the power assist. I had a 91 DX hatch with P/S, I took the p/s off when I did a swap and god was it hard to turn. My arms were sore for a month untill they got used to it.

how did you remove the PS? did you just remove it and let the fluid run dry? or did you fill it up and loop the inlet and outlet hoses together?
can't image how it could be harder than mine is now. anyone compare non-power steering rack VS. a ps rack (without the ps)?
