I just got my proform shift light today and I installed it. I ran the wires as goes:
red to 12v
black to ground
green to neg on coil (thats how I always did it)
First off the light just comes on whenever it feels like and is no where near accurate. sometimes accurate but mostly not. Also my cars ignition would just cut out and start bucking. then I moved the green wire to slot15 of the 20pin connector(89si).
that is the rpm signal. Now the car doesnt buck but the light turns on whenever it wants to and isnt really that accurate like I said before.
Is this thing broke or what??
