Well, I already know that my 3rd gear synchros are bad, because it grinds when i shift above 6 grand, sometimes causing me to miss shift. So i purchased the 3-4 synchros sleeve set. Just havent gotten around to tearing it apart.

Today, during a race, i miss shifted, and scratched 3rd gear. Now my shifter is coming out of 3rd gear by itself. It wont stay in gear, unless i hold it there. And it takes nothing more than a finger to pull it out of gear, when im driving in that gear. None of the other gears have this problem, nor do i ever miss shift, or grind the other gears. Im curious as to what would cause this problem of popping out of gear. Any ideas? Shift selector fork bent maybe? Or did i finish off the 3rd synchros?

I would rather have as little down time as possible, otherwise id just tear into it and inspect everything. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

BTW, how much did u get the 3-4 synchro for? Also for which tranny?

 

My buddys tranny popped out of gear before and it was because of the housing not having enough oil. Fill it up and try it out.

 

yeah if there isnt enuff oil...the tranny starts spitting ou tthe gear...you can actually feel the shifter "slide" out.
