Please help with new motor
Just installed a OBD-1 B18C3 in my 01 teg. I am using the OBD-2 ECU and am getting a crank angle sensor check engine light. I know why I am getting this but the car wont go into vtec. You can take the car to redline but it wont crossover in vtec. I can feel the buterflies open up at 5800 but after that the car falls on its face towards redline. I am only getting that one code off my ECU. I already have ordered a OBD-1 ECU dto fix that light but I dont know why I dont have vtec. Shouldnt the car be throwing a code for no vtec? I have already checked the vtec solenoid and it is hooked up. The car gets to operating temps just fine and the oil is full. What should I do?

with the check light on for the crank flux sensor the ecu is in "safe mode" and vtec will not werk, when you convert to obd1 your problems will be gone
