Default PLEASE HELP!!

last night, im driving and my transmission starts to slip, would rev up to 4-5 rpms, catch, back and forth.. 5 minutes later, pull up to light, stop and then step on gas, nothing, revs up, goes now where... coast to side of road, turn car off, wait 20 minutes, try again... goes half *** about 3 more blocks, then stops again.. no drives work, reverse, d2, d3. check tranny oil, half full...add more, nothing..

no funny noises, no problems before this at all...
its a 2001, honda civic lx, 4 door, with 74,000 miles...

Possibly the clutch plates .
How do you drive the car? Spirited, normal or neutral drops everywhere?
What it sounds like is that you heated up the plate and glazed the surface of them.
