Default Pinched Header or Oil Pickup?

i have an integra with a h22 in it.

not much of a story, but i hit a manhole in a parking lot. i'm trying to take a picture of it for this thread but in the meantime just imagine.

car now feels like complete *** above 4,000 rpms. car runs fine, idles fine. the oil pan and header are both pretty banged up.

is the header pinching my exhaust flow up top or is the car starving for oil? the header is probably dented to about a inch or so for airflow.

the car it idles fine and drives fine, just feels like it is choking at the higher rpms. i havent driven it since i smacked it, except to "test" it out.

the header is a two piece header, so my next option is to just take the bottom part off and drive around my neighborhood

you could possibly have a bigger problem then you think

BUT...theres simply ways to figure this out

if it was your oil pickup starving for oil your oil light would either be on or it would flicker. my old h23 did the flickering..hooked up a oil pressure sensor to my oil temp sensor in back of block..gauge said my oil pressure was low...my tech friend said since the oilpan was dented from transporting the engine it could be the problem...i took off the pil pan and used a rubber mallet to bang it back out.....it stopped the oil light flickering. the pan was smashed against the pickup causing crappy oil flow

as far as the header goes....simply throw on a stock one or something.....see if anything changes....little less risky then driving around with flames shooting out the downpipe and sounding like a 2 stroke dirtbike on steroids

ALSO

could one of your wires have come loose during the impact? its not impossible since its a swapped car..........

good luck!

did your car have the same issues mine did? i'd like to bang the pan back out when i find out whats wrong.

i would swap the stock header on if i had one, but i dont have one or no anyone with one im not too worried about driving around with a open header, ive done it plenty times before with both of my turbo setups

I highly doubt it, but i can check it again. Like I said, the car runs fine and idles great, doesn't sound out of the ordinary. but once it is above 4,000 RPMS, its choking.
