You'll need to get a obd2 to obd1 jumper harness. For the p28 ecu to work, you'll need to get it chip with a p72 program for it to run without throwing a cell.

Your car is not going to run better with a stock p72 ecu.
Look into an aftermarket intake manifold such as skunk2/aebs along with a chipped obd1 ecu.

Get an ecu chipped for your current setup, then you decide to go turbo then your ecu will already be chipped ready for honda/crome/uberdata etc.

If you are going turbo and you wish to run Hondata, get a 94-95 GSR p72 ecu. You will be converting to OBDII and you will retain the ability for the ecu to pull timing via the knock sensor. A p28 does not have this function.
