Default Ok to steam clean?

ive heard if you steam clean your engine and you get a certain part wet, it would break, and you car wouldnt start. is this bs, and can i steam the engine????

I dont know anything about steam cleaning an engine, but it seems to be obvious that you wouldnt want to spray electrical parts with alot of water. Sure there going to get wet, but dont soak them.

Its ok to steam clean an engine, but your still gonna want to cover some parts that you don't want to get wet. Such as the dizzy and the alternator.
