Default Oil starvation - D16a6

OK, I f@#$ed up big time - I changed my oil, and "double-gasketed" the oil filter (forgot to check if the old oil filter gasket was on the block, and put another oil filter on top of it) gasket. The gasket busted after a week of driving and the oil light came on while I was driving. I drove it for a mile to get home, changed the oil again, and put a new filter.

Then the car sat for a week. I went to start it again to warm it up, and after about five minutes of idling, the engine stalled.

My question is if the engine is garbage or still rebuildable? I was hoping to rebuild it myself.
