Default Oil Pan Gasket Leaking

I found out today that my oil pan gasket is leaking oil and drips onto my header. I have 93k miles on my car and was wondering if this is a common condition on high milage Hondas?

The dealer wants to charge me $250 to change out the gasket! Perhaps I will leave it be. It seeps out very slowly.

Thanks,
CB

Bah just change it yourself really easy and the gasket won't run more than $6 . Just do it next time you change your oil. BTW put some honda bond around where the oil pump meets the block on the bottom of the block... same with the right side cover. Easy to fix save yourself $250. HTH

costs so much cuz they have to take off part of the header, which takes time, which is expensive as ****

yeah I would agree buy the helms and follow the outlined procedure make sure that you torque to the specs in the helms manual

I bet it will be the best $80.00 you spend

what about the prep work needed to get a new gasket on? do I need to scrape the gasket off and prep the surface for the new gasket?

Thanks,
CB
