oil light stays on
I have a question for you about a week ago I was driving and it was pouring here at about 5000 rpm it sounded like I had water in my intake I didn't drive it for like 4 days after that the other day I started my car it was running was rough almost like a light knocking sound I shut it off and check my oil I was about 2 and a half quarts low. I put oil in it and the sound stopped. Then I when and filled up my gastank before leaving the station my oil light came on. shut it off and check the oil again still was full. I got to about 25 mph the light went off. then came back on when I stopped. It seems only to come on at idle. I haven' driven the car since then. Today we took it apart to see if the sensor was bad put a new one in the pressure test showed 5-6 psi but no oil showed on the gauge nor on the sensor that supplies the oil.
They tell me I need a new bottomend that my bearing might be bad or internal parts in the bottom end. Do you have any idea what else I should look at before I spend the 4000 its going to cost to fix. I told them to put a new oil pump in i guess i just have to see what happens
ok first, whos "they".
second a bearing that is causing your oil light to come on? ive never heard of that, i think "they" are yanking you around. i could be wrong on that.
Also, you can get a GSR longblock for under 2,000$ so the 4,000 to get it replaced is BS.
I would replace the oil pump and go from there.
