Default oil leak coming from drain plug?

i have an oil leak that seems to be coming from the drain plug, i have loosened and tightened the bolt a couple of times, changed the washer and bolt and it's still leaking. about 1 drop every 2 min. could there be a small crack or deformity around the hole? is there a way i could fix this or do i have to replace the oil pan?

Is the bolt screwing in tight? If so, you can try using a rethreader to get the threads straight. If that doesn't work then you'll have to get a new oil pan. If you're really starved for money and don't care about ghetto-rigs then you can try putting some silicone around the drain plug. That's not a recommended procedure though.

This happened to me once upon a time. It was because I cross-threaded the plug. I got a "temporary" drain plug. It is a rubber seal on a fairly long bolt and it covers the drain hole. I've had it for about 6 months and it is starting to leak a little. It worked well for $11 bucks though. I'm holding out for the engine swap.

As for a replacement pan, junkyarddog.com.

Are you using the gay metal O rings to seal it up? If so, try the ones that are metal, then have a rubber O inside of em. You can get em @ like Napa ect for like 5 bucks. They seal good. If that doesnt do it, sounds like you might of done someting to the oil pan. Can you screw the bolt in an out easy or is it sorta hard and does not come out smooth?

the bolt screws in and out without difficulty. the leak started to happen after i had my second oil change since i bought this engine. i'm thinking the previous owner must have over tightened it or something.

Sounds like exactly what happened to me. I only had my car a month or so and after the second or third oil change it started to leak. Call your local auto shop for one of those temp plugs I mentioned in my previous post. It is a good temporary solution. It will last long enough for you to find a good deal on an oil pan.
