never had this happen before, but im getting some oil inside my distributor. its coming out from the bottom where the cap meets the distributor and dripping on to top of my tranny. i know about the oring that goes into the head, but is there another seal i can replace? is it shot?

ok, i have went through quite a few distributors, oil leaking from inside the distributor is the result of a bad seal inside the distributor that they do not make a replacement for, i have searched. The solution is a new distributor, and usually when this seal goes bad your distributor bearings are gone out too, resulting in a lack of power, and usually my tach would be all over the place. Get a new distributor.

ok got a new distributor, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. car feels more responsive but i doubt it gained the 30 something hp to where the setup should be. i also went from bkr7e to 6e's
why would you go from 7's to 6's?
i remember when i had oil in my distributor. the dealership didnt offer just that one seal. i had to buy a new distributor.
