heres the problem im experiencing. a floaty tach and a noticable miss at high rmps. i have oil inside my dizzy. so i went to change out the distributer the other day and i couldnt get it off, due to a stripped bolt and lack of tools. so i cleaned all the oil that i could out of it with a rag. the car runs great now, no miss at high rmps and the tach works fine. now, im guessing that the oil is leaking through the shaft in the dizzy. the cam seal is fine, no oil leaking there. i bought a reman dizzy from the part store i work at, but if i can replace a seal inside the dizzy for 2 bucks, that saves me a lot of money. anyone have any experience rebuilding a dizzy or what not?



is it seal #6 i need to replace.

I'd rebuild my dizz a while ago. There's an rubber oil seal/bearing that may be responsible for your oil leaking into the dizz. I accidentally broke it and now I can't find any Honda dealer willing to sell it alone; they want the sell the whole dizz casing.
Here's the marking on it:
NOK BH3888K 13.4
and the measurements:
ID: 12.5mm
OD: 28mm
D: 5mm

If you get alot of oil inside the distributor, that wont help. The seal is inside the distributor. I don't know anyone that sells just the seal.

 

yea i checked with the honda dealer. he said u have to get the hole casting. looks like im keeping that reman dizzy now.
